Miami Web Fest announces New Student Categories for its 10th Anniversary Year!

In preparation for its 10-year anniversary event, Miami Web Fest has announced category awards for Student Web Series and Student Short Film. 

Miami Web Fest, the international film festival specialized in web series celebrates its 10-year anniversary in May 2024, welcoming content creators from all over the world along with celebrity guests and speakers from major networks, and prominent film/TV industry luminaries.  Past celebrity guests and performers have included Keith David, Bobby Roth, Crystal Waters, and Sharon Gless.  Guest speakers have included current and former executives from from Comedy Central, HBO, Viacom, Univision, Telemundo, Netflix, and Maverick Entertainment along with entertainment attorneys, managers, casting directors, and film commissioners.
 
The theme of the 10-year Anniversary Event is “Generation Next”.  Founder Bryan G Thompson, himself a distinguished filmmaker with award-winning films in multiple genre, confirms that this “Generation Next” theme is simply an adaption of the overall festival mission. “This year, we will hold students on a pedestal as the next generation of great storytellers, while also continuing  to provide emerging creators access to key distribution opportunities!”
 
The festival is in the final phase of its content curation cycle, evaluating the best content from among the Student categories as well as the standard categories of Web Series, Trailer, Pilot, Music Video, and Podcast.
