Crandon Park Film/Still Photography Regulations

Film/Still Production Rules and Guidelines

The following will govern all production shoots that have obtained a permit from the Miami-Dade Office of Film, Television and Print.

There will be no exceptions to the following rules unless approved by the Park Manager and specifically stated on the permit:

  1. All crews must sign in at the Park Office each day prior to entering park. They must display permit/parking pass in the windshield of each vehicle. 
  2. The permit tee is responsible for the actions of all crew members and talent. A copy of these rules shall be provided to, and read by all crew members and talent before commencement of any activity. 
  3. There is absolutely no entering Crandon Park areas through exits or other unauthorized passages without prior Park Manager’s approval. 
  4. Direction for shoot locations may not be posted anywhere on Crandon Park land, (including parking lots or service areas). Guide maps shall be available at the Park Office. 
  5.  Do not block or impede access to the following areas: a. Service roads
    b. Handicap access to the beach
    c. Concession stands
    d. Showers or restrooms
    e. Promenade crews and talent must not block any access such as doors, driveways, stairs, or ramp from the public. 
  6. No filming (productions or stills) will be allowed in the Central Alley unless it can be done without parking any type of vehicle or mobile equipment anywhere in the Central Alley. An unobstructed view must be maintained in this area at all times.
  7. Crews and talent must adhere to all instructions of park staff. 
  8. Permittees must provide their own provisions for dressing rooms. Showers and restrooms must not be used for dressing rooms. 
  9. Permittees must prevent production equipment from becoming an obstruction to public access or unsightliness. 
  10. There shall be no use of lifeguard towers at any time without permission of the lifeguard commander.  
  11. There shall be no nudity allowed. 
  12. Permittee may no move, touch, cut, trim or have anything hung or attached to trees, foliage, features, fountains, or art objects. 
  13. Permittee is responsible to have all debris cleared up and bagged in the park areas after shoot and prior to departure.  
  14. No electrical or water hookups shall be granted without prior permission of the Park Manager. 
  15. No animals shall be permitted on Crandon Park lands unless prior permission is granted by the Park Manager, and security measures are satisfactory to park management, and have been implemented in advance and additional liability insurance has been secured. 
  16. Any use of special effects such as rain, wind, tire, explosive, etc. must be included in permit application, and must be approved by the Park Manager in advance and all governing rules will apply. 
  17. If weather or unforeseen circumstances alter shoot plans, the Park Office must be notified immediately in order to make alternate arrangements if location is still desired. 
  18. Permittee shall secure and keep in force from and after date such activity commences and throughout the period of shoot on Crandon Park lands, liability and automobile insurance as required per Administrative Order 4-34 or as amended. 
  19. The Park and Recreation Department requests and where appropriate shall require, (i.e. editorial print and features) that any video, film, photos, and/or recordings, etc. using Crandon Park lands, contain a credit reflecting the origin of such media at “Crandon Park, Miami, Florida”. 
  20. Permits can only be issued for two consecutive weeks maximum. 
  21. The actual selection and use of a location site on the beach by a film production company is conditional, upon the demand for public use of the beach and the need to protect the nature preserve, etc. 
  22. There shall be no more than two (2) simultaneous shoots on weekends or holidays during the period of November through April. No filming on weekends or holidays, May through October. 
  23. ALL permitees must observe all park speed regulations and all other park regulations, including the Crandon Park Master Plan. 
  24. There are restrictions that apply for number and time: a. Simultaneous shoots
    b. Vehicles on shoot site – shuttle vehicle will be counted as one allowed vehicle.
    c. Order of same day use.
    d. Months
    e. Locations

  25. ALL revenue arising from fees shall be considered a donation. ALL donations and requirements are minimum and are subject to upward adjustment to reflect the type, size, and impact. 
  26. Early/late gate opening must be request before 3:00 p.m. the day before. $30.00 per hour before 8:00 am and after sunset closing.

*All fees – Direct cost expenses shall be charged to the production company. These fees must be paid by noon on the day of shoot unless arrangements have been approved by the Park Manager.

All donations, reservations must be paid by noon on the business day prior to the shooting, otherwise no reservation of location will be made without payment in full.

Fees are not refundable.
